Research

My research interests mainly lie in machine learning, pattern recognition, and some related fields including computer vision and data mining. In the past 3 years, I have been working on data similarity learning, manifold learning, recognition & detection, probabilistic graphical models and statistical regression models. Besides, I find the following topics to be interesting: multimedia and text mining, middle-level vision, and fast parallel algorithms.

Now I am working on a traditional problem - human detection, which appears to be an opportunity and valuable application to integrate and test my past works. Yet, I know this problem can be extremely challenging, and the competition is fierce. Hope things come well.
